On the rainy afternoon of 19 May 2025, a fatal fall shocked residents of the 14-storey apartment block on Jalan Dato’ Ismail Dr., Seremban. At about 3:20 p.m., 48-year-old Loh Yue Hua, from nearby Taman Seremban, entered the building after three unsuccessful attempts to persuade shopkeepers and residents to open the electronic entrance gate for him. Claiming he had forgotten his access card, he was repeatedly refused, but finally slipped inside when a resident exited. Ten minutes later a loud crash—initially mistaken for thunder—revealed Loh had leapt from an upper floor onto the zinc roof above the ground-floor plaza, dying instantly; the impact left a deep indentation, complicating firefighters’ efforts to retrieve his body.

Witnesses said Loh spoke calmly in Cantonese and showed no obvious distress moments before the tragedy. CCTV footage confirmed he wandered the corridors before jumping. Police have yet to determine the exact floor or the motive, and no relatives were present at the scene.

State assemblyman Chow Sze Yeong, noting a similar suicide there on 29 December 2021, pledged to revisit plans for full safety netting—previously opposed by some residents—and to use constituency funds to strengthen fall-prevention measures. He urged people facing debts or family problems to seek help early, emphasizing community vigilance and support networks to avert future tragedies.
