The 60:40 joint venture project between Ascendas Pte Ltd and UEM Sunrise Bhd is sprawled over 210 hectares (ha), which can accommodate some 200 enterprises once it is fully completed.
Ascendas president and group chief executive officer Manohar Khiatani said for the start-up phase, they had received 40% pre-commitment for ready-built facilities.
“We have also engage many other companies requiring built-to-suit facilities. Leading corporations such as Sanwa Group, YCH Group and VADS Bhd will also be exploring the possibility to locate their operations here,” he told reporters at the ground breaking ceremony on Thursday.
Sanwa might take up a 72,000-sq ft facility for their precision engineering and manufacturing operations while YCH Group will team up with Nusajaya Tech Park to explore the possibility of developing a state-of-the-art supply chain facility.
Meanwhile, VADS Malaysia will explore the potential of setting up a data centre at the park.
The start-up phase, spanning over 28ha of ready-built facilities and land plots for build-to-suit developments, will start works in few months and is expected to be completed by 2016.
Nusajaya Tech Park is ideal for companies in electronics, precision engineering, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, food processing and fast-moving consumer goods, supported by efficient logistics and warehousing services.
Located just minutes from the Malaysia-Singapore Second Link Expressway, the park is also developed with a comprehensive security masterplan to enhance the security of its tenants, employees, assets and operations.
