Johor Housing and Property Board yet to be presented to Sultan: MB

JOHOR BARU: The state government have yet to present the Johor Housing and Property Board enactment to the Sultan of Johor Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar for consent.

Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin said the state government is currently going through the enactment that was passed by the State Assembly last month and it was not in a hurry to enforce it.

"There are still a lot of issues that need to be addressed before the board can be operational. At the moment, we are in the process of structuring the organisation of the board, including identifying the officers and staff for the board.

"I am confident that the process will be finalised by the end of the year and the enactment will be enforced next year," said Khaled.

He was speaking to the media after launching the 50th anniversary celebration of SMK Dato' Penggawa Timur in Pasir Gudang here.

The menteri besar said the board could not operate effectively is it was approved by the Sultan and enforced without the necessary preparations.

"We want to make all the preparation before presenting the enactment to the Sultan for his consent," said Khaled. - NST
