Bank officer goes MISSING, suspected of joining IS

SEREMBAN – Leaving a note saying that he is going to "look for the master", a bank executive went missing together with his savings after sending his wife to work, triggering speculations that he has joined the Islamic State (IS) militants.

The 45-year-old man sent his wife to her office in the morning as usual on May 13, but was found missing when the bank contacted his wife at noon, informing that he did not go to work. His wife tried to contact him, but failed.

His wife told Sin Chew Daily that their son found a short note with the words "cari tok guru (looking for the master)" in their bedroom.

She said that she lodged a police report after her husband went missing for two days and at noon yesterday, he contacted his mother, saying only that he is find.

She said that nothing was unusual before her husband went missing, only that he had withdrawn a few thousand ringgit from his account. She had no idea why he was withdrawing the money.
