Seremban Dog Poisoning Sparks Outrage – Animal Groups Take Action, FB Post Under Fire!

  May 19, 2025
They called for immediate action over the post shared on the “Sendayan Macam-Macam Ada”.

A controversial Facebook post about dog poisoning in Seremban has triggered strong backlash from the public and animal rights groups. The original post, which appeared to glorify or joke about poisoning stray dogs, drew sharp criticism from Malaysians across social media.

In response, three major animal welfare NGOs—Persatuan Haiwan Terbiar Malaysia (SAFM), Persatuan Pencinta Haiwan Terbiar Malaysia, and Malaysia Animal Voice—have filed a police report against the individual behind the post, accusing them of promoting animal cruelty and inciting others to commit similar acts.

The NGOs emphasized that poisoning dogs, whether strays or pets, is not only inhumane but also illegal under the Malaysian Animal Welfare Act 2015. They stressed that such behavior must be taken seriously to prevent further cruelty and protect the safety of both animals and the public.

The Facebook post reportedly showed an image of a dead dog with a caption suggesting it had been poisoned intentionally. This sparked a wave of anger among netizens, many of whom demanded action from authorities. The case is now being investigated by the police.

Animal activists are urging the public to report any acts of cruelty and to use social media responsibly, especially when dealing with sensitive issues involving living beings.
