Crime rates in Seremban drop 32.3%

 
SEREMBAN: The crime rate in this district went down by 32.3% to 750 cases from January to today compared with 1,109 cases for the corresponding period last year.


Seremban police chief ACP Muhamad Zaki Harun said the number of housebreaking cases was also lower at 150 for the same period which was 43.8% lower than the 267 cases reported during the corresponding period last year.

"I believe the fall was due to preventive measures taken by the police with the cooperation of other agencies such as rukun tetangga as well as community leaders.

He was speaking to the media after chairing a Seremban District Police Headquarters Monthly Meeting and the presentation of appreciation certificates to policemen and the media here today.

He said most of the cases in the district were committed by foreigners. – Bernama
