Four areas record unhealthy API as at 8am

 


Four areas in the peninsula recorded an unhealthy Air Pollutant Index (API) reading of 100 as at 8am today.

According to Department of Environment (DOE) website, the situation occurred in Muar, Johor (109), two areas in Malacca, namely Malacca City (106), Bukit Rambai (105) and Nilai, Negeri Sembilan (104).

Meanwhile, a moderate API reading is recorded in 26 areas while another 26 areas recorded good API.

A moderate API is recorded, among others, in two areas in Negri Sembilan at Seremban (92) and Port Dickson (80).

Moderate API readings are also recorded in Sarawak such as Samarahan (85), Kuching (78) and Sri Aman (64).

An API reading of between 0 to 50 is categorised as good; 51 to 100 (moderate), 101 to 200 (unhealthy), 201 to 300 (extremely unhealthy) and over 301 (hazardous).

The public can refer to the portal http://apims.doe.gov.my to obtain the latest API reading.
