NILAI: A husband and wife were killed in an accident involving four vehicles, including a trailer lorry, at KM270 near Seremban R&R area of the North-South Expressway here today.
The victims; Lau Lian Huat, 62, and his wife, Lim Ah Gim, 60, were killed on the spot. They were in a Perodua Alza.
In the 5pm incident, authorities said the south-bound trailer lorry was said to have swerved into the opposite lane and crashed head-on into a Proton Preve and a Proton Waja.
The lorry then spun and slammed into the Alza before coming to a halt.
Nilai Fire and Rescue Department chief Ahmad Ridwan Yahya said the department took about half an hour to extricate the two victims who were trapped inside their vehicles.
Three other motorists were injured in the accident.
"All the injured victims were rushed to the Tuanku Ja'afar Hospital (TJH) in Seremban for treatment," he said when contacted today.
Meanwhile, state police chief Datuk Noor Azam Jamaludin confirmed the incident and the case was still being investigated.
